Evokes the golden age of crime fiction with a comedic touch

A pleasure to read. It’s nice to read something that takes us back to traditional crime fiction. We have the eccentric genius detective, the loyal sidekick and recorder who always gets the wrong end of the stick and the plodding policeman. There is a murder, a mystery and a variety of suspects all wrapped up in a light comic touch. What we don’t have is a lonely, depressed middle-aged detective with alcohol issues and a vintage car.
I read it on a cold, dark day, in front of an open fire with several cups of tea and a packet of biscuits. It may have just caught me at the right time but life doesn’t get much better than this.

A delightful whodunnit

I found the characters in this delightful whodunnit to be both intriguing and engaging. I’m looking forward to the release of book 2.

Loved it

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Sharp, funny. The dialogue is a delight. Cannot wait to see more from Jack and Felix. Truly entertaining.

An interesting an quirky read

Much to like in this new book. I love detective mysteries and quickly found the quirky humour appealing. There was a clever use of names to make you smile – pubs with names never seen on the high street (Otter and Swan). Characters with names that make you smile too.
The concept was good and sufficiently different; an enjoyable read

I enjoyed reading it and had some chuckles along the way

It opens with a good hook, and the story takes you where the author wants to go. The dialogue is amusing, more of this please. I enjoyed reading it and had some chuckles along the way.
